Guided*

Hailing from the Cannes of N.Ireland, Bangor (it‘s not really like Cannes), Guided* produce a sound on ‘Pistols Drawn…’ which belies their young age.

We don’t know their real names so for now Maccers, Wild Bill, Man-ilow and Billatron will have to do, although they probably have really ordinary names like Ricky.

‘Pistols Drawn…’ captures the band at their ethereal, heartfelt best. We at No Dancing heard the demo version and loved it. Expecting to hear it was Mew or some other Scandinavian band, hearing that they came from Co. Down came as quite a shock. News that they were unsigned too didn’t go unnoticed. So here they are with this release.

Kidd Dynamo

Kidd Dynamo started in June 1999. Back then it was just a guy called Colin Campbell with a guitar and drum machine. He recorded songs on an 8-track and played his music at a few acoustic clubs around Belfast.

A demo tape 'New Space' featuring 4 songs followed in October. It received a very positive reaction in some local magazines around the city. The lead track was also featured on an Italian compilation called 'Beware of the Ricochet'

The first show as a group happened in a backstreet Belfast bar in December 1999. People were beginning to take notice. Listening to the quiet emotive power behind the songs. Within the space of a few months Kidd dynamo were being applauded by virtually every journalist in town.

In August 2000 Kidd Dynamo recorded a live session for 'The Session In Northern Ireland'. They played shows with JJ72, Johnathan Richman and The Webb Brothers. Colins acclaimed solo performances have seen him support Joan Armatrading, David Kitt and Sophia. The Kidd Dynamo track 'Like The Cars' won the 'Across The Line - Demolition Derby' competition in May 2001 as a result they supported My Vitrol, Wilt and Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) in the Conor Hall, Belfast. The entire live set was broadcast on radio the following week..

The latter half of 2001 resulted in Colin making his London debut, touring the UK with The Reindeer Section and live shows in New York City with Ian Archer. Kidd Dynamo's debut single 'I Am A Landslide' was released in October to rave reviews and considerable airplay.

Kidd Dynamo is currently hiding out in New York City...

Riff Randells

The Riff Randells are three girls playing teenage punk. Kathy's on guitar, Felicity's on bass, and Anne-Marie's on the drums. They've been playing shows since the summer of '99 and have become Vancouver’s favorite leave-you-in-the-dust trio, writing hits and hitting the road as often as they can!
